    Description

    The Addiction Psychiatry Division within the University of Rochester’s School of Medicine & Dentistry’s Department of Psychiatry invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor. We are recruiting for a candidate with outstanding training and education skills of psychological interns and postdoctoral fellows within addiction psychiatry.

     

    Specially, we are interested in recruiting candidates that have success in obtaining HRSA training grants and other HRSA funds. This candidate will be instrumental in implementing the translational research on a day- to- day basis within clinical services in Addiction Psychiatry. Moreover, this position will require leadership and managerial skills to implement the day- to- day operations of trainees onsite at the Strong Recovery Clinical Site and other addiction clinical sites within the Addiction Psychiatry Division. This will also include overseeing the psychological testing operations within Addiction Psychiatry.

     

    This candidate will also work to integrate the use of evidence based digital therapies and assessments into clinical services in Addiction Psychiatry. A focus of academics and translational research within Addiction Psychiatry will be on the complex interplay between addiction and comorbid psychopathology (anxiety, depression, trauma and family violence), and issues related to health inequities, social determinants of health, and disparate health outcomes in minority, underserved, and disadvantaged populations.

     

    The successful candidate will help oversee the training experience of all psychology trainees and postdoctoral fellows within the Addiction Psychiatry Division and will collaborate with other research investigators to contribute to training and education activities in the areas of addiction psychiatry, health psychology and behavioral medicine, including supervision and mentoring of junior researchers.

    Candidates must meet the following requirements:

    1. Doctoral degree in psychology, psychiatry or health-related profession with experience in addiction psychiatry.

    2. Track record of training grant research funding, research training and experience, with indications of academic success.

    3. Track record of conducting clinical research with digital therapies on the issues noted above.

    Compensation includes an excellent, nationally competitive base salary, with bonus/moonlighting opportunities, annual CME stipend, and generous benefits package through the University, including retirement program and tuition benefits.

    The referenced pay range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries. Alignment of clinical incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
