    Description

    The Del Monte Institute for Neuroscience and Department of Neuroscience at the University of Rochester is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank. As part of our university-wide expansion in Neuroscience, we are looking for outstanding individuals who specialize in investigating the use of brain stimulation to understand the underlying mechanisms of neurodevelopmental disorders and associated symptoms.

    Responsibilities:

    - Conduct research focused on using brain stimulation techniques to explore the underlying mechanisms of neurodevelopmental disorders and associated symptoms.

     

    - Investigate the impact of brain stimulation on neural function and health in the context of neurodevelopmental disorders.

     

    - Design and implement experiments utilizing both human and animal model systems.

     

    - Collaborate with other researchers within the field of neuroscience to contribute to a comprehensive understanding of cellular, systems, and cognitive neuroscience.

     

    - Contribute to teaching and mentoring at the graduate level, sharing knowledge and expertise with students.

    Qualifications

    - A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Neuroscience or a related field.

     

    - Demonstrated expertise in brain stimulation techniques, such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) or other relevant modalities.

     

    - Strong background in neurodevelopmental disorders and their underlying mechanisms.

     

    - Experience with both human and animal model systems.

     

    - Proven ability to design and execute research projects independently.

     

    - Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

     

    - Expertise in Neurophysiology/Neuroimaging modalities

     

    The successful candidate will join our vibrant and diverse community of researchers with interests spanning cellular, systems, and cognitive Neuroscience. They will have the opportunity to contribute to teaching and mentoring at the graduate level, helping to shape the next generation of neuroscientists.
