    General Maintenance Worker I

     

    Type: Non-ExemptWork Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift

     

    Compensation: $24.00-$24.00/ hour

    Tessera is seeking a consistent and perceptive General Maintenance Worker with a positive attitude.

    Typical duties include but are not limited to:

    + Responsible for a variety of tasks, which may include applying touch up paint, painting structures or buildings, replacing windows, changing door fixtures, repairing or replacing paneling.

    + Responsible in assisting skilled workers in performing various electrical, carpentry, plumbing, or masonry work.

    + Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment.

    + Communicates and interacts directly with the customer, informing the customer of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs.

    + Responds to customer inquiries and complaints.

    + Ensures completed work meets quality control standards.

    + Make difficult diagnoses and suggest solutions and repairs to customer.

    + Communicates with scheduler to update status of repairs and estimate completion dates.

    + Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.

    + Can work both independently and in a team environment.

    Qualifications:

    + One-year experience in general maintenance/construction work required.

    + Experience in all areas of general contracting/maintenance preferred.

    Physical Requirements:

    Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

     

    + Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.

    + May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

    + Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

    + Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

    Requirements:

    + A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.

    + Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
