Job Summary:
The Transplant Financial Coordinator is responsible for the complex financial coordination required of Transplant Programs to ensure that all federal and state laws and regulatory requirements are met during each phase of Transplantation for living organ donors, recipients of deceased donated organs, and recipients of living donated organs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: financial review of all new patient referrals; assessment and verification of insurance coverage and policy benefits related to specific prescription costs, transplant and outpatient medical services related to transplantation; acting as a liaison with insurers for pre-authorization of transplant specific treatment or testing; and acting as the primary hospital reviewer of all charges related to transplant patient care activities, determining which are authorized by CMS to be billed to ESRD. The transplant financial coordinator also provides information, support, and education to transplant patients related to financial coverage and federal funding; and assists with the completion of required forms related to financial coverage for transplantation.
Minimum Qualifications:
AAS and three years of relevant experience in a supervisory/administrative setting OR Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in a supervisory / administrative setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Transplant finance and Medical billing experience
