    Applicants who meet the education and experience requirements and are within six months of obtaining the required certifications will be allowed to continue in the competitive recruitment process; and if successful, will be placed on the eligible list.     Health Officers are legally responsible for many of the functions performed in local public health agencies. In El Dorado County, neither the environmental health program, which is one of the health officer's responsibilities, nor the emergency preparedness program is housed within the public health division. Other health officer duties, such as the duties of Tuberculosis Controller, Communicable Disease Controller, and Local Registrar of births and deaths, can be (and often are) delegated to others within public health.
