Job Summary
The Customer Engagement Specialist is responsible for helping to develop and implement strategies designed to raise awareness and generate interest in Girl Scouts, resulting in potential membership leads. The position requires extensive day travel and some nights and weekends in order to meet, present and network with community organizations, schools, corporations, educators, faith-based institutions, and other community constituents. This position serves Mobile, Washington, Clarke and Choctaw counties in Alabama. It will include a balance of travel to outlying areas and time in GSSA’s Mobile office. The person in this position is responsible for providing ongoing development of girl programming in underserved communities. They facilitate programs for girls in grades K-6 during both the school year and the summer, which includes assisting with the Girl Scout Cookie Program within these areas.
Job Qualifications
• Associate degree or higher (preferred) and/or three years related experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to analyze situations quickly and accurately and to adopt an effective course of action
• Excellent communication skills, evidenced in volunteer relationships, written materials, and ability to speak effectively in public to small and large groups.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective interdepartmental relationships
• Ability and desire to work with persons of diverse backgrounds
• Sales or recruitment experience preferred
• Possess valid driver’s license, insurance, and available vehicle for work at all times
• Able to travel throughout the jurisdiction and willingness to work evenings and weekends
• Proficiency in Salesforce, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other software relevant to position
• Ability to handle several tasks concurrently with minimal supervision
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude and professional appearance
