Job Summary
The Regional President holds full leadership and operational responsibility for hospitals, ambulatory services, and health systems within the states of AL, FL, MS and AR. This role focuses on driving strategic development, revenue growth, quality improvement, and fostering strong relationships with health system leaders, physicians, board members, and community stakeholders. The Regional President ensures that each health system meets high standards for patient care, safety, and regulatory compliance while leading efforts to achieve financial and operational success.
Essential Functions
+ Provides overall operational leadership for the region, overseeing the performance of hospitals, ambulatory access points, and strategic partnerships to ensure financial success and regulatory compliance.
+ Mentors and supports the senior leadership teams at individual health systems, providing guidance on performance evaluation, identifying areas for improvement, and enhancing leadership effectiveness.
+ Partners with health system CEOs and leadership teams to develop and execute strategic business plans that advance competitive positioning, expand services, and drive revenue growth.
+ Leads initiatives focused on enhancing patient experience and safety, supporting the implementation of high-reliability organization (HRO) strategies, and driving improvements in quality outcomes.
+ Ensures health systems meet quality and safety standards, as demonstrated by performance in CMS Star Ratings, Leapfrog Safety Grades, Joint Commission Survey results, and compliance with other regulatory bodies.
+ Conducts regular site visits to support health system leaders and monitor operational performance, representing corporate leadership at meetings with medical staff, board members, and community stakeholders.
+ Collaborates with health system leadership and corporate teams to share best practices, foster strong partnerships, and deliver operational results in areas such as provider outreach, physician practice services (PPS), and ambulatory surgery center (ASC) operations.
+ Partners with finance leadership to ensure that financial performance meets or exceeds expectations, focusing on earnings, margin growth, and cost management.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
+ Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
+ Master's Degree in Hospital Administration or Business Administration required
+ More than 10 years of experience and demonstrated successful leadership in a healthcare facility, which includes but is not limited to: building relationships with board members, physicians, health system employees, and community; growing health system revenue and market share to meet budgetary goals and objectives; and meeting necessary regulatory and compliance approvals and quality accreditations required
+ More than 10 years of extensive experience leading and winning in a highly complex, competitive health system environment required
+ CEO or similar level experience leading an acute care hospital required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Strong leadership and operational management skills, with a focus on strategic planning, financial performance, and quality improvement.
+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with health system leaders, physicians, board members, and community leaders.
+ Comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and quality measures.
+ Strong financial acumen and experience with budgeting, revenue growth, and operational cost management.
+ Ability to work collaboratively across a matrix organization and lead multidisciplinary teams.
+ Strong ethical standards and a commitment to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
