Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Saint Paul, Minnesota. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with financial closing processes, maintaining financial records, providing guidance to the accounting team, and managing customer-related financial transactions among others.
Responsibilities
• Oversee the reconciliation of expenses including credit card transactions, expense reports, prepaid expenses, and asset tracking
• Assist in the management of multi-location inventory, including transfers between locations and reconciliation of raw material/WIP inventory counts
• Participate in the monthly and yearly closing processes, including preparing journal entries for accruals and adjusting entries
• Handle tax compliance tasks including preparing and submitting sales and use tax returns for all locations
• Supervise the preparation of 1099 forms and Form 1096
• Manage the accounting related to freight, including reconciliation of accrued expenses and calculation of broker income, sales commissions, and Rebate Tracking
• Support the processing of customer-related financial transactions including sales invoicing, credit memos, and reviewing/approving customer credits and releasing orders
• Maintain financial records, including fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
• Provide guidance and oversight to the accounting team members
• Act as a backup for the Director of Accounting during their absence. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Accountant or in a relevant field
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations
• Extensive knowledge in handling General Ledger and Journal Entries
• Advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP
• Experience in conducting Month End Close, Month-end Close Activities, Month-end Financial, Month-end Journal Entries, and Month-end Reports
• Ability to perform Monthly Account Reconciliation accurately
• Understanding of Fixed Assets, Manufacturing Cost Accounting, and Raw Material Inventory
• Knowledge in managing Raw Materials and Inventory Accounting
• Experience in handling Accrued Expenses, Depreciation Expense, and Fixed Asset Depreciation
• Familiarity with creating and managing Depreciation Schedule
• Proficiency in using Dynamics 365 Business Central for accounting activities
