Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity in Houston, Texas, for a Sr. Accountant in the Detail Oriented Services industry. This role will involve detailed financial management, including data collection, cost analysis, and audit support. The successful candidate will also be expected to perform month-end and year-end close functions, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and work closely with various departments.

Responsibilities:

• Engage in the preparation and processing of complex journal entries, ensuring accuracy through data collection, cost analysis, and preparing audit trail support.

• Fulfill month-end and year-end close functions, including the preparation of journal entries, assisting in the review of department financials, and collaborating with other departments and field facilities.

• Conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, focusing on company-wide centralized functions at Corporate, while managing the moderate to high level of difficulty due to the volume of activity and risk associated with these accounts.

• Foster strong relationships with various departments, leading monthly meetings to discuss new and ongoing matters identified in reconciliations, journal entries, or other reviews.

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation and review of financial reports, and competently complete individual analytical projects within given abstract project guidelines.

• Participate in monthly financial meetings for discussions and review of pertinent matters.

• Assist with the maintenance and application of internal controls, ensuring adherence to proper internal and external financial accounting procedures.

• Support the preparation of working papers for annual audit and internal controls audits.

• Provide expertise and guidance to other Finance personnel regarding financial accounting procedures and their application.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the detail-oriented Services industry

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations

• Demonstrable experience with General Ledger and Journal Entries management

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Proven experience with month-end close processes

• Familiarity with Oracle or similar accounting software

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
