A Senior Wastewater Service Worker is an integral part of the wastewater collection system whose mission is to keep the community functioning by performing semi-skilled work associated with the maintenance, construction and repair of wastewater collection systems and their appurtenances!
This working lead position is crafted for individuals who have graduated high school and have at least two years of experience comparable to Nevada County’s classification of Wastewater Service Worker II. Possession of a valid Class B California driver's license within 30 days of hire. Possession of a Grade I or II certificate in collection system maintenance issued by the Water Pollution Control Association is a big plus! Possession of Hazmat/Confined Space Certification and/or a Commercial Driver's License is also desirable.
+ Under supervision, lead and perform skilled work associated with the maintenance, construction and repair of wastewater collection systems, lift stations, treatment facilities and their appurtenances
+ Inspect work in progress and upon completion for quality and conformance to instructions and specifications
+ Cuts and fits pipe, digs trenches, mixes grout and concrete, cuts pavement, and backfills and compacts trenches
+ Performs high pressure cleanings, smoke testing and TV inspection of sewer lines
+ Provides sewer line inspection services as needed

Recruitment incentives between $1K and $5K paid over a 1 year period (either new or lateral hires). The recruitment incentive is paid in two parts, half upon hire and the remainder paid upon completion of a 12-month probationary period.
Education and Experience Required

The Senior Wastewater Service Worker position is a working lead position that performs wastewater infrastructure repair and maintenance tasks, some of which may be semi-skilled in nature. Examples of duties include repairs to collection and sewer main lines, high pressure cleaning and performing smoke testing and TV inspection of sewer lines.
