    Position Overview:

    Leads the strategic planning, design, implementation and administration of retirement benefits programs (defined benefit, defined contribution and retiree medical), ensuring compliance with complex laws and applicable reporting requirements. Evaluates effectiveness of programs, proposing and implementing changes to support the achievement of strategic business initiatives. Establishes the direction of policies and procedures to support business goals while addressing appropriate geographical and business differences. Defines system-wide application of Human Resources (HR) solutions to meet the needs of the business and support program execution.

    EDUCATION:

    _Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma._

     

    Bachelor's: Human Resources, Business Administration or related field

    TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

    12 years recent relevant experience.

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

    Working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations governing retirement and retiree medical benefits (e.g., Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 401(a), 403(b), and 105, and Financial Accounting Standards (FAS) 106 and 87 etc.)

     

    Knowledge of defined benefit and/or defined contribution plan administration and processes.

     

    Understanding retiree medical benefit plan administration.

     

    Familiar with current and emerging retirement benefit trends and practices.

     

    Knowledge of applicable audit and regulatory compliance requirements governing retirement benefit plans and programs.

     

    Ability to understand the business and culture, and to effectively manage or lead change.

     

    Strategic skills for reviewing processes and strategies to ensure successful alignment with business needs and for identifying improvement opportunities

     

    Analytical skills with proven ability to resolve issues/problems by leveraging business and HR/functional knowledge and client relationships.

     

    Ability to manage large scale projects from inception to successful implementation.

     

    Ability to operate strategically and tactically.

     

    Demonstrates credible leadership presence, with the ability to respond to questions with logic, clarity, calmness and authority.

     

    Ability to bring individuals together to resolve differences and/or to achieve acceptance of a solution.

     

    Ability to influence others by persuasion, negotiation, and problem solving, and to move others to recognize and appreciate different points of view and to consider/accept alternative options.

     

    Collaborative working style to facilitate open sharing of information and cooperation with various project participants and/or stakeholders.

     

    Ability to interact and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of role’s duties while respecting cultural and linguistic differences and fostering an inclusive work environment.

     

    Ability to communicate through verbal and written means, and to present concepts and information in a manner that is readily understood by management and employees.

     

    Organization and planning skills to effectively delegate, manage and/or re-prioritize activities and projects to meet deadlines while maintaining a high degree of responsiveness.

     

    Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with changing business priorities.

     

    Displays integrity and ethics in handling confidential and sensitive information.

     

    Ability to use essential applications and/or databases associated with the role’s duties and responsibilities.

    Pay Range is $75.45 to $120.73 / hour

     

    _The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package._ _​_
