    We are currently seeking House Parents to join our teams in our, in making a difference in the lives of our patients every day. We are located in the heart of Middle Georgia State where we enjoy abundant recreational opportunities, and a family friendly environment with good schools and opportunities for the entire family to be involved.

     

    Summary of Duties

     

    The House Parents cares for people who have disabilities, chronic illnesses, cognitive impairments, or age-related problems. He or she provides social interaction and companionship for patients in various healthcare settings under the direction of a licensed professional.

    Responsibilities

    • Complies with ATC and Oconee Center CSB policies/procedures

    • Complies with client facility nursing policies/procedures

    • Maintains confidentiality relative to patient services and facility practices in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)

    • Communicates information effectively to appropriate personnel.

    • Provides companionship services, such as sitting with patient or reading to patient.

    • Provides patient services in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that considers cultural diversity and age appropriateness so that autonomy, rights, and dignity are preserved.

    • Document observances of clients into Catalyst at the end of shift

    Qualifications

    • At least six months of work experience as a sitter/companion in a healthcare setting.

    • Experience in Behavioral Health (Developmental Disabilities, Mental Health or Substance Abuse)

    • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered

    Knowledge & Skills

    • Must be a self-started and work independently;

    • Must be able to perform assignments with minimal supervision;

    • Must be able to comprehend and perform oral and written instructions and procedures;

    • Must have effective comprehensive reading skills, strong communication skills, written and verbal.
