Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Vascular Sonographer functions as a member of the healthcare team by providing patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures to assist in the diagnosis of medical conditions. The individual functions as a delegated agent under the supervision of the physician and completes procedures in a manner consistent with Marshfield Clinic Health Systems’ (MCHS) mission, policies, and initiatives while maintaining patient confidentiality.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

_For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation._

**Minimum Required:** One of the Following:

+ Associate degree or technical diploma in a related health care program.

+ One year of experience as a vascular, cardiac or general sonographer.

**Preferred/Optional:** Associate degree in ultrasonography, registered in cardiac and vascular sonography thru ARDMS or CCI and experience in cardiac and vascular ultrasound.

EXPERIENCE

**Minimum Required:** Patient care experience.

**Preferred/Optional:** One year experience as a vascular sonographer.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

_The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position._

Minimum Required:

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.

+ Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification obtained through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or CCI within two years’ of hire.

Preferred/Optional:

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.

+ Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification obtained through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or CCI at time of hire.
