Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Surgical Physician Assistant is a skilled member of the allied health care team who is qualified both academically and clinically to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physician. The Surgical Physician Assistant works within a cooperative unit, utilizing team effort with health care providers, co-workers, and the public to provide positive patient interaction.

In this role, you will see peds and adults. The schedule will be day & evening shift rotation. There will also be call duties.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

_For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation._

**Minimum Required:** Graduate of a nationally accredited Physician Assistant Program.

**Preferred/Optional:** None

EXPERIENCE

**Minimum Required:** Need to be certified to see all ages.

**Preferred/Optional:** One year in specialty.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

_The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position._

Minimum Required:

+ Certification from the National Commission on Certifications of Physician Assistants.

+ Must be eligible to obtain or already hold a current State of Wisconsin Physician Assistant licensure.

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.

+ Additional department-specific certifications, licenses, or memberships may be required (varies by department/location).

+ Affiliated staff privileges at associated hospital may be required (varies by department/location).

**Preferred/Optional:** Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
