**Harborview Medical Center - Central Processing Unit** has an outstanding opportunity to hire a full time **STERILE PROCESSING OPERATIONS SPECIALIST** .
WORK SCHEDULE
+ 40 hours per week
+ Day Shift
+ On call 24x7 in case of emergencies or staffing issues **POSITION HIGHLIGHTS** The STERILE PROCESSING OPERATIONS SPECIALIST will provide supervisory and leadership functions related to the provision of sterile instruments in the Operating Room and to the entire HMC hospital. The Operations Specialist is also responsible for the daily operations of the Central Processing Department, the Implant Room, OR, Stores, and the case cart system. **PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Directing the staff to make sure that all 1st and 2nd OR case carts are picked, complete and ready for the early morning surgeries.
+ Make sure that the OR instrument sets have been properly prioritized so that all needed instrumentation will be sterile and available when it is called for.
+ Make sure that all chemical biological tests have been properly run and monitored to insure that all sterilizers are in proper working order and that sterility can be assured.
+ Verify that our instrumentation inventory is being maintained to achieve a minimum operating level.
+ Adjusting the CPU, Implant Room and Supply Tech schedules as needed to assure proper coverage of all three departments.
+ Payroll completed to adhere to established payroll deadlines.
+ HR duties including training and counseling employees, hiring, dealing with performance and personnel matters.8. Directing the hiring, selecting and training of staff; acting upon leave requests; conducting annual employee evaluations, conducts and initializes remedial and or disciplinary actions as needed up to and including dismissal.
+ Responsible for the development of policies and procedures; ensures compliance for outside review.
+ Prepares productivity reports of the unit; establishes preventive maintenance program for equipment.
+ Makes decisions on staffing levels.
+ Manages personnel in decontaminating, assembling, packaging and sterilizing linens, dressings, treatment trays, and related items;
+ Reviews inventory status reports; adjusts reorder levels as necessary; submits requisitions for supplies.
+ Maintains Quality Assurance records and billing records **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
+ A bachelor’s degree with emphasis in the life sciences
+ At least three years of experience in all facets of Decontamination, Sterilization, Microbiology, and aseptic and antiseptic techniques.
+ At least one year of supervisory or leadership experience managing the day today operations of a Central Processing Department.
+ Vast knowledge of methods and practices for sterilization and storage of supplies, equipment and other material.
+ Considerable knowledge of inventory control practices and methods, such as par-level replenishment and just-in-time delivery.OR
