Description
SAIC is looking for a skilled and experienced Journey Level **CNC Machinist** in **Crane, IN** to join our manufacturing team in support of the U.S. Navy.
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT MAY NOT BE LIMITED TO:
+ Set up and operate CNC machines, including lathes and mills, to produce precision parts according to specifications.
+ Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances.
+ Advanced level CNC programming of CNC machines using Mastercam and other programming languages.
+ Perform routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
+ Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications, using precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
+ Make adjustments to machine settings as necessary to achieve desired results.
+ Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
+ Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency.
+ Keep accurate records of production runs, including setup times, cycle times, and any issues encountered.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
+ High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in CNC machining or related field preferred.
+ Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance; Interim Secret needed to start.
+ Must be a U.S. citizen.
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC machinist, with journey-level proficiency.
+ Proficient in operating and programming CNC machines, including lathes, mills, and other machining equipment.
+ Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages, including Mastercam.
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings.
+ Experience with various types of CNC machines, including lathes and mills.
+ Knowledge of CAD and Wire/Sinker EDM systems.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Good communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret level clearance.
