    What You'll Do

     

    We’re looking for an Associate Actuary or Actuary to join our Corporate Actuarial team. In this role, you’ll help drive capital deployment strategies, support both business unit and enterprise-wide strategic projects, contribute to strategic decision-making, and support the management of our exited businesses. You'll have the opportunity to shape financial outcomes, optimize risk management, and provide insights that enhance business performance!

     

    + Direct and provide analytical leadership for areas of responsibility including, but not limited to: product design and pricing, risk management, financial reporting, or consulting with external clients.

    + Research and stay apprised of changes in pertinent regulations to ensure compliance in analysis and decision making.

    + Apply actuarial analysis in the development and maintenance of sound, efficient, and accurate systems to support calculations and recommendations.

    + Lead or participate in business unit or cross company projects as a subject matter expert. Provide analytical and research-based consultation to achieve cost effective and strategic solutions.

    Who You Are

    + Bachelor's degree or equivalent required

    + A Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, or global equivalent, or Enrolled Actuary and 6+ years actuarial experience required.

    + Knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, the Actuarial Standards of Practice promulgated by the Actuarial Standards Board, and the Code of Professional Conduct of the AAA and the SoA is required

    + Basic knowledge of financial statements and financial services.

    + Must maintain continuing education requirements as specified by either SOA or AAA

    + Good communication skills and knowledge of spreadsheet and database or similar PC software packages, or ability to learn, are preferred

    Skills That Will Help You Stand Out

    + Background experience creating or working in financial models.

    + Experience in financial services, working with a range of products.

     

    We'll consider talent at the Associate Actuary or Actuary level based on experience and skills.

     

    Salary Range Information

     

    Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

     

    Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)

     

    $123000 - $185000 / year

     

    Time Off Program

     

    Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

    This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
