    Job Description

    The Director of Data Analytics, under general direction, develops, manages, and coordinates Institutional Research operations. Collaborates with faculty and staff to compile, analyze, and report a wide range of institutional data, which includes institutional characteristics, enrollments, and student achievements.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + The Director of Data Analytics, under general direction, develops, manages, and coordinates Institutional Research operations.

    + Collaborates with faculty and staff to compile, analyze, and report a wide range of institutional data, which includes institutional characteristics, enrollments, and student achievements.

    + Ensures that information is collected, and official reports are produced in a timely manner to maintain compliance with Federal, State, System, and University reporting requirements.

    + Oversees the design, development, and maintenance of online databases as well as the composite information system storing archival information for retrieval to enhance reporting.

    + Develops technologically driven enhancements for providing internal constituents with access to data and information for decision making.

    + Manages daily activities of the department with regards to recruiting and selection, hiring and terminating, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, and performance evaluations.

    + Analyzes University data and prepares reports and executive summaries.

    + Administers the budget and oversees the fiscal operations of assigned department.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Master’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Ten (10) years of related experience including at least two (2) years of related supervisory experience.

    + Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications with a proficiency with Microsoft Exel.

    + Knowledge of statistical analysis tools.

    + Knowledge of report editing, data marts, and statistics.

    + Experience working with SIS, SQL and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).

    + Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

    + Ability to write moderate to complex queries in SQL or WebFOCUS programming language.

    + Ability to run, analyze, and extract data from statistical analysis tool(s), including SPSS, SAS, STATA, or similar software.

    + Effective organizational and time management skills.

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    + Ability to communicate complex statistical analyses to a non-technical audience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience with Ellucian’s Banner Database

    + Experience in higher education

    + Knowledge of data integrations with third-party applications

    + Knowledge of Business Objects and MicroStrategy
