    Hart & Hickman, PC (H&H) is actively seeking an experienced Environmental Professional with experience in performing asbestos surveys to join our expanding team in Charlotte, NC. As an Environmental Professional – Asbestos Specialist you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and collecting samples from suspect asbestos-containing materials located in residential, commercial, and industrial environments. Following the collection of samples, you will be responsible for preparing a written report detailing the findings of the inspection. You will work closely with our team to perform and provide expert guidance on asbestos surveys, abatement planning or maintenance of asbestos-containing materials identified in good condition, and regulatory compliance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Conduct asbestos surveys in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.

    + Identify and assess the condition of suspect asbestos-containing materials, either friable or non-friable, on the interior and exterior of buildings.

    + Collect samples from a representative number of locations in accordance with Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) guidelines and other requirements.

    + Prepare detailed reports documenting the findings of the inspection.

    + Provide recommendations to clients on the management of asbestos-containing materials identified during the asbestos survey.

    + Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental laws and safety protocols.

    + Coordinate with contractors, clients, and regulatory agencies to ensure project success.

    + Stay up-to-date on industry regulations, trends, and new technologies.

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, or a related field (preferred).

    + Current AHERA asbestos inspector training and subsequent refreshers.

    + North Carolina Asbestos Inspector Accreditation.

    + Minimum 1 year of experience in performing asbestos inspections.

    + In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal asbestos regulations.

    + Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.

    + Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

    + Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

    + Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
