GENERAL SUMMARY

+ Manage all components of the Trauma Registry, including data collection, data entry, and data retrieval/statistical conversion.

+ Review trauma admission records for data collection and abstraction.

+ Analyze all records for quality assurance trauma standards recommended by governing bodies and as stipulated by regulatory groups.

+ Perform the abstraction, coding (ICD) and application of all trauma data points in the registry taken primarily from inpatient trauma cases.

+ Apprise program coordinator of all relevant trauma audit filter inconsistencies via periodic quality assurance reports.

+ Produce various other quality assurance reports as directed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

+ High School diploma equivalency and 2 years of cumulative experience or Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

+ Prior experience as a Trauma Registrar highly preferred

+ ICD coding experience highly preferred

+ Medical Terminology knowledge preferred -

+ HIM degree preferred -

+ Data abstraction experience preferred

CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED

Preferred Credential(s): -

+ Registrar specializing in Trauma Registry.

+ CAISS certification.
