Seemann Composites is AS9100 Quality System certified.Engineers at Seemann Composites have the latitude to work in resource focused groups and product teams. Our Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), typically include Engineering, Program Management, Quality, Logistics, and Production.Seemann Composites has an opening for an Engineer IV at our facility in Gulfport, MS. The work will include interfacing with other engineers, and IPT members toward accomplishing the project objectives.Typical duties of an Engineer IV include product development and ownership, tooling development, and manufacturing support supervision. The primary CAD tool is SolidWorks for both modeling and drawing development; experience with this software tool is certainly a plus.Opportunities for career advancement include Technical Ownership, Product Ownership, Engineering Management, and Program Management paths.Job Requirements:

     

    + Typically has 8+ years of experience performing similar duties

    + Bachelor of Science in Composites, Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Chemical, Aerospace, or other related engineering degree, such as Naval Architecture

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

    + Product owner of technically intensive research and development projects

    + Subject matter expert in multiple areas of the production process

    + Produces proposals, schedules, budgets and other programmatic deliverables

    + IPT Lead of Large and / or research and development projects

    + Responsible for day-to-day tasking of self, and Engineers I / II

    + Primary interface with customers and subcontractors

    + Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD Security Clearance

    + Proof of US Citizenship and/or authorized to work in the US. Due to the nature of our work, United Citizenship, is required.

    Desired Skills and Experience:

    + Good Oral and written communication skills

    + SolidWorks or Equivalent - 3D modeling and 2D drawings

    + Task and schedule management - Microsoft Project Preferred

    + Deltek CostPoint

    + Hands-on composite fabrication experience, or composite fabrication support

    + Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings with GD&T, technical requirements and specifications and material requirements

    + Graduate degree is desired

    Essential Physical Requirement: Working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, you will be walking, standing and engaging in movement throughout the day, and occasionally to frequently be required to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Due to a large variety of job duties (both routine and non-routine), certain duties also may involve, a variety of physical activities including bending, stretching, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing working in enclosed areas, climbing stairs or ladders, and operating heavy equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment can vary but noise is usually low to moderate.

     

    You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety gloves, hearing protection, a respirator or dust mask, protective footwear and protective clothing or uniforms. Work may be performed in cold and/or hot temperatures and the environment can be dusty. Physical requirements further include the ability to engage in productive collaborative communication with co-workers and work may need to be performed during non-standard hours, including nights and weekends. At times, the ability to work overtime also may be required but it is not usual.
