CNC Milling Machinist Level II

This position produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) milling machine, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, maintaining equipment and supplies.
Hours are Monday-Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm with overtime.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
+ Prepares and operates CNC milling machine to perform required tasks
+ Understands specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc.
+ Translates instructions into computer commands so machines can perform the correct function
+ Prepares and loads raw materials and parts on the machine
+ Prepares test run to check if the machines produce output according to specifications
+ Sets machines to complete full cycles to fabricate number of parts
+ Supervises the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
+ Inspects and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
+ Checks and maintains machinery daily to ensure functionality
+ Adheres to quality control procedures
+ Performs other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
+ Completion of CNC Milling Machinist Level I qualifications
+ Ability to setup more advanced fixturing (sign plate, 4th Axis, etc.)
+ Good understanding of GD&T
+ With little or no assistance, be able to run through an unproven program
+ G Code editing (Speeds and Feeds, Canned Cycles, etc.)
+ Make minor changes to a pre-programmed Mastercam file
+ Ability to do basic programming using Mastercam
+ Ability to give machinist double check and metric double check
+ Full understanding of cutter selection and speed and feeds
+ Ability to bore and check close tolerance holes
+ Good understanding of all CNC milling equipment
+ Ability to use Renishaw Probe
+ Working knowledge of certified quality standards (AS9100 Rev D)
