Position Summary
As a CNC Lathe Machinist, you will set up, operate, and maintain CNC and manual lathes to produce precision parts for mission-critical applications. You will work in a climate-controlled, safety-focused environment with opportunities for overtime and career advancement.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation & Setup:
+ Operate CNC and/or manual lathes to produce high-quality precision components.
+ Load and unload raw materials and finished parts.
+ Perform basic machine setup and tool changes as needed.
+ Monitor operations to ensure parts meet strict quality standards.
Quality Control & Inspection:
+ Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools to verify part dimensions.
+ Identify and report any defects, inconsistencies, or deviations from specifications.
+ Make minor machine adjustments to maintain accuracy and quality.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
+ Recognize and troubleshoot machine malfunctions and operational issues.
+ Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning and lubricating machinery.
+ Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
+ Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of experience operating CNC or manual lathes.
+ Technical Proficiency: Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, and precision measuring tools.
+ Mechanical Aptitude: Basic understanding of machine operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
+ Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
Preferred:
+ Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, or Okuma controls (for CNC operators).
+ Knowledge of basic programming and editing of CNC programs.
+ Previous experience in metal fabrication, aerospace, or defense manufacturing.
