    Job Summary

    Are you a skilled Civil Engineer with a passion for shaping roads and highways infrastructure in Chicago? TYLin invites you to join our team as a Senior Civil Engineer focused on highways and bridge projects. In this role, you’ll take a leading role in delivering impactful designs that elevate transportation networks.

     

    Responsibilities & Qualifications

    What You'll Do:

    + Lead the design and analysis of bridge and highway projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards.

    + Oversee the production of comprehensive contract documents, including plans, specifications, cost estimates, and more.

    + Facilitate multi-disciplinary reviews to resolve potential design conflicts.

    + Coordinate with local agencies for regulatory approvals and actively engage with the public through outreach events.

    + Collaborate closely with Project Managers and team members to keep projects on track, on time, and within budget.

    + Implement established Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures in coordination with TYLin and agency standards.

    + Support Alternative Delivery projects on an as-needed basis.

    + Participate in business development efforts with other leaders in the various transportation sectors of TYLin, focusing primarily on R+H and Bridges.

    + Play a key role in the “Go/No-Go” decision making process for pursuits.

    + Foster strong relationships with clients, subconsultants, and governing agencies.

    What We’re Looking For:

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred).

    + Illinois Professional Engineer’s license required. Michigan and Missouri preferred (or the ability to acquire)

    + 15+ years in highway design and other transportation-related projects.

    + Proficiency in MicroStation SS4/SS10 w/ Geopak, Inroads, OpenRoads Designer.

    + Conversant in other civil design software such as traffic modeling software, Civil3D, etc.

    + Requires a thorough knowledge of Illinois DOT, CDOT, and Illinois Tollways policies and procedures.

    + Client focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.

    + Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges.

    + High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.

    + Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.

    TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $135,000 - $211,200 annually for this position and local market. We recognize that each candidate brings a unique set of skills, experience, education and competencies to the table that will be reflected in our offer.
