Job Summary

Our Construction Management team is seeking an Assistant Construction Engineer for the Chicago Metro Region. The Assistant Construction Engineer will perform a variety of tasks and assignments related to roadways, transit, railroads, bridges and transportation related structures in accordance with design specifications and guidelines. This individual will inspect materials; organize and participate in agency coordination and apply techniques to carry out a sequence of related engineering tasks.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Apply standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out tasks as part of a broader assignment.

+ Inspect bridges, including railroad bridge and transportation related structures.

+ Inspect incorporated materials.

+ Ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and regulations.

+ Assist in setup and maintenance of master project files.

+ Assist in resolution of design/coordination issues.

+ Monitor contractor’s work progress and schedule.

+ Attend various meetings, facilitate various meetings, and prepare meeting minutes.

+ Interpret contract specifications and special provisions.

+ Measure and document work performed by contractor.

+ Assist in project close-out, as-builts, and punch list.

+ Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (INCLUDING EDUCATION and/or JOB EXPERIENCE):

+ Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.

Additional Information

TYLin is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $60,000- $90,000 annually for this position and local market.
