Job Summary
The Senior Director, Quality Risk Management oversees quality improvement and risk management initiatives to ensure high standards of care, regulatory compliance, and organizational safety. This role provides strategic leadership in identifying, assessing, and mitigating clinical and operational risks while driving quality improvement initiatives. Depending on departmental needs, the Senior Director may focus on specialized areas, adapting strategies to meet specific risk and quality management requirements.
Essential Functions
+ Leads the development, implementation, and oversight of quality improvement and risk management programs.
+ Establishes policies and best practices for risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and quality enhancement, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards.
+ Collaborates with clinical and administrative leadership to monitor key performance metrics, implement quality and safety initiatives, and evaluate program effectiveness.
+ Conducts regular risk assessments and root cause analyses, implementing corrective actions and preventive measures to reduce adverse outcomes.
+ Provides guidance and education to clinical and operational teams on quality standards, patient safety, and risk management protocols.
+ Manages regulatory compliance activities, including preparation for audits, maintaining documentation, and ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.
+ Analyzes data on quality and risk trends, using insights to drive continuous improvement and support strategic decision-making.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field required
+ Master's Degree preferred
+ 8-10 years of experience in quality improvement, risk management, or a related field, with significant experience in a senior leadership role required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
+ Comprehensive knowledge of quality assurance, risk management, and regulatory compliance standards, including CMS, Joint Commissions, and state/federal regulations.
+ Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate complex healthcare data, identify trends, and implement actionable improvement strategies.
+ Proven ability to develop, implement, and oversee enterprise-wide quality and risk management programs that align with organizational objectives.
+ Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with senior leaders, clinicians, and cross-functional teams.
+ Expertise in change management and process improvement methodologies, such as Lean or Six Sigma, to drive quality initiatives.
+ Advanced proficiency in healthcare analytics tools and software, with the ability to interpret and present complex data to diverse audiences.
+ Strong leadership and decision-making abilities to manage high-pressure situations and ensure compliance with risk mitigation strategies.
Licenses and Certifications
+ RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure preferred
+ CPHQ - Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality preferred or
+ CPHRM - Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management preferred
