The Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel, a beautiful waterfront property with 466 rooms and 46,000 square feet of versatile meeting space, is seeking an **Assistant Director of Sales** to provide support to our sales efforts.

What You Will Do
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with brand and management company policies.
+ Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training sales team members.
+ Lead and participate in daily and weekly sales meetings.
+ Support and motivate sales managers and hotel staff in achieving sales goals.
+ In the absence of the Director of Sales & Events, oversee daily sales office responsibilities.
+ Develop and implement SMART Plans for all direct sales market segments.
+ Conduct prospecting and outside sales calls to cultivate existing and new business.
+ Ensure timely and professional communication with clients through proposals, follow-ups, and event confirmations.
What We’re Looking For
+ At least five (5) years of hotel or industry-related experience.
+ Minimum of three (3) years in hotel catering, group sales, or event servicing (preferred).
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Hotel/Restaurant, or related field (preferred).
+ Experience with industry-specific sales programs such as Microsoft Office, Delphi.fdc, and/or CI/TY.
+ Some knowledge of ProfitSword forecasting (preferred).
+ Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; less than 10% travel required.
