Description

Robert Half is working with a dynamic healthcare company to hire a Senior Revenue Accountant for a newly created role with the organization! As a Senior Revenue Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in managing revenue recognition and reimbursement processes across private healthcare practices. This position requires a deep understanding of varying reimbursement rates, payer systems, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and accurate documentation.

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, analyzing, and reconciling revenue-related journal entries in accordance with GAAP accounting standards and ASC 606 guidelines. Your expertise in healthcare revenue cycle management and interdepartmental allocations will be essential as you partner with teams to streamline processes and support audits.

Key Responsibilities

+ Record and analyze revenue journal entries for healthcare services rendered, ensuring adherence to GAAP standards and proper revenue recognition principles (Source: US Demand for Skilled Talent Q1 2025.pdf).

+ Capture adjustments to gross healthcare revenue, including insurance adjustments, patient discounts, and write-offs for uncollectible amounts (Source: US Demand for Skilled Talent Q1 2025.pdf).

+ Reconcile journal entries against anticipated reimbursements from payers such as insurance companies, Medicare/Medicaid, and other payor systems.

+ Manage deferred revenue entries for prepayments and retainers and ensure proper allocation across intercompany cost centers and divisions.

+ Perform account reconciliations to verify consistency between journal entries, bank deposits, electronic remittances, and patient collections.

+ Retain detailed documentation to support internal and external audits, complying with legal, regulatory, and organizational policies.

Requirements

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.

+ CPA is a plus but not mandatory.

+ 4+ years of full-cycle accounting experience, with expertise in healthcare revenue cycle management required.

+ Proficiency with Great Plains, Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs), and QuickBooks is essential.

+ Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

+ Clear understanding of healthcare reimbursement processes and regulatory requirements.

+ Proven ability to meet deadlines and resolve reconciliation discrepancies effectively.
