    Description

    Robert Half is in search of a Cost Accounting Manager to join our client's team based in South Jersey. In this Cost Accounting Manager role, you will be tasked with the management and leadership of all cost accounting activities, providing strategic insights and actionable recommendations to improve cost and profitability. You will also be responsible for accurate inventory valuation and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and external regulations.

    Responsibilities:

    + Supervise all cost accounting operations, including the implementation of standard costing and job order costing.

    + Regularly update pricing and conduct variance analysis.

    + Mentor and provide guidance to a team of cost accountants, fostering a conducive learning environment.

    + Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of cost structures and trends.

    + Collaborate with supply chain and production teams to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of inventory.

    + Design and implement robust internal controls to safeguard assets and maintain accounting data accuracy.

    + Ensure adherence to internal accounting policies and procedures, as well as compliance with external regulations.

    + Deliver detailed cost insights and actionable recommendations to management for cost and profitability enhancements.

    + Collaborate closely with operations, procurement, and production teams to comprehend cost drivers and guarantee accurate and timely data reporting.

    Requirements

    The ideal Cost Accounting Manager is required to have a Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA or CPA highly preferred.

    Other requirements for the Cost Accounting Manager role include and are not limited to:

    + 7+ years of experience in cost accounting, with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role

    + Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, inventory management, and financial analysis

    + Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Oracle system or similar ERP experience

    + Proven ability to lead and mentor teams effectively.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
