GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The Zamboni Driver/Rink Attendant will operate industry equipment to maintain an ice surface for the purpose of professional hockey and recreational ice activities while ensuring all operational needs are met for the venue, client, and patrons.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ Operates Zamboni, ice edger

+ Maintains in-house ice, to ensure its readiness for use

+ Inspects the facilities & equipment on a regular basis, to ensure the safety of Arena personnel & patrons

+ Maintain a professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic

+ Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule to produce accurate results and meet deadlines

+ Understand and be capable of ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed

+ Performs other duties as required and/or assigned

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ No supervisory responsibilities assigned to this position

QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Detailed oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills

+ Ability to operate industry related equipment

+ Demonstrated knowledge of industry terms and the ability to operate industry related equipment is a plus

+ Ability to work with limited supervision, prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously while exercising judgment and initiative in addressing and completing assigned tasks

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

+ High School diploma or GED required

+ Experience with operating mechanical equipment such as forklifts and/or aerial lifts preferred

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Windows and MS Office applications.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

+ Have and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License

+ Possess any licenses, certificates or training required by local, state, or national authorities for job related duties

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

+ Walk/stand extensively, kneel, climb to high walkways, balance, and maneuver throughout the various areas and surfaces of the venue

+ Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or occasionally more with assistance

+ Work inside and outside the building is required, may have some exposure to adverse conditions

+ Must be able to hear and speak to use a two-way radio

+ Must be able and available to work extended shifts, when needed. Shifts may include nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays
