Job Description

The Dishwasher position performs a variety of cleaning, stocking, dishwashing, and minor food preparation duties in a commercial kitchen located within a commercial kitchen in a restaurant setting. This position will support the Qavartarvik Customer Lodge in Bethel, AK.

Responsibilities

+ Disposes of trash in assigned receptacles.

+ Cleans various carts and trash receptacles.

+ Stocks storage areas with incoming products.

+ Washes objects by hand or with cleaning equipment.

+ Cleans dishes, utensils, pots, pans etc. and places in assigned storage areas in an organized and orderly manner.

+ Cleans, sweeps, wipes down, etc. all general dining, kitchen, or storage areas (in some cases), and equipment as well as all floors.

+ Assists with various periodic and scheduled cleaning projects.

+ May serve on the line to support food service production.

+ May assist manager with inventory counting.

+ Keep clean dish area clean at all times.

+ Helps maintain clean dining room, tables, and chairs.

+ Follows dress code according to department.

+ Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success may also be assigned.

Qualifications

+ The ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, callouts, etc.

+ Food Handler card, Alaska Food Workers card, or ServSafe certification within 30 days of employment.

+ Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English.

+ This contract requires a flu shot to be administered pre-hire and annually thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

+ High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

+ Some prior experience or training which demonstrates knowledge of cleaning equipment/processes or a suitability for and interest in this type of work, preferred.
