RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for the daily activities of the department.
• Provides work leadership and serves as a technical resource to staff.
• Ensures quality service and patient care in the department.
• Performs duties and responsibilities of a Radiologic Technologist.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.
• Constant: stooping/bending; reaching above and below shoulder level, frequent gripping of an object.
• Frequent: standing, walking, twisting body, lifting weight with assistance up to 50 pounds; carrying up to 40 pounds; pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds of force, reaching at shoulders, repetitive arm/hand motions, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods of time.
• Occasional: sitting, kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, squatting.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Exposed to both inside and outside environmental conditions; cold temperatures due to the air conditioning.
• Subjected to noise/vibration from film processors.
• Exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, mechanical/electrical units, chemicals and radiation.
• Work environment is fast paced and high stressed due to patient census.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Current Hawaii State license as a Radiologist Technologist.
• Current BLS certification.
B. EXPERIENCE:
• Three (3) years recent experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Prior leadership experience preferred.
• Experience to demonstrate:
o Knowledge of computers, medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
o Knowledge of radiology safety operations and capabilities.
o Knowledge of quality assurance activities as applied to radiology.
