POSITION: Electrical Systems Technology Adjunct; Part Time

Description:
The adjunct instructor works under general supervision to provide instruction to students in the Electrical Systems Technology Program. The program is designed to prepare participants for entry-level positions to provide inspection, maintenance, installation, and repair of electrical systems in the residential, commercial, and industrial industries.
The instructor m ust demonstrate the use of appropriate teaching techniques; use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and any other record-keeping required; effective use of oral and written communication skills; knowledge of current in-field procedures; and follow approved course syllabus. The instructor will evaluate student progress in attaining goals and objectives within the program, complete all reports and records in a timely manner and maintain accurate inventory of all assigned properties. The position may involve teaching traditional day and/or evening classes or online classes.
Teaching responsibilities are typically performed in a classroom/lab environment with the employee intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling for three (3) to four (4) continuous hours at a time. The employee frequently lifts lightweight objects up to 50 lbs. The work is performed in campus buildings and outdoors where the employee is occasionally exposed to cold or inclement weather. The exposure to dirt, dust, grease, machinery with moving parts, chemicals, and fumes is possible in the lab environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Diploma in Electrical Systems Technology or related field
• Current unrestricted licensed electrical construction for State of Georgia -OR- Industry Certification in the discipline
• Related work experience
