Technical Software Consultant
Atlanta, GA
Job Description Summary:
The Technical Consultant is a platform evangelist for the Regional NPI (New Product Introduction) Team is a customer facing position critical to our software strategy. You will be the liaison with customers to drive business outcomes using NCR Voyix commerce platform. You will be responsible for overall program management, working cross functionally with velocity and quality. The role involves a mix of technical consulting, lab infrastructure setup, and customer enablement. Some travel within the US to be onsite with a customer is required.
Key Responsibilities
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams on all aspects of a project from demo, to launch planning and execution with velocity and quality.
+ Lead technical demonstrations of NCR’s NextGen products to customers and stakeholders.
+ Collaborate with the engineering teams and product teams to drive the right business outcomes aligned to delivery schedule.
+ Lab Setup for customers (software and hardware)
+ Install, configure, and maintain Self-Checkout (SSCO), Point of Sale, and other retail solutions.
+ Implement networking configurations, VPN access, security policies, and firewall rules.
+ Monitor lab health, logs, and infrastructure stability using observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, etc.).
+ Provide technical training to customers.
+ Capture feedback from customer demos and share insights with Product and Engineering teams.
+ Deploy and manage edge enabled cloud environments for customer labs (AWS, GCP, Azure).
+ Debug and resolve infrastructure and application-level issues in customer environments.
+ Ensure out-of-the-box configurations are leveraged for efficient and scalable deployments.
+ Assist in customer onboarding by providing technical guidance on solution implementation.
+ Stay updated on emerging cloud, and retail technologies to improve technical capabilities.
Key Qualifications
Technical Skills & Experience:
+ Cloud knowledge in GCP, (Kubernetes, IAM, VPC, Load Balancers, helm charts).
+ Experience with Edge computing for deploying cloud native solutions to Edge devices.
+ Experience with networking fundamentals (DNS, VPNs, firewalls, TLS/SSL, load balancers).
+ Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk).
+ Experience working with microservices architecture, REST APIs, and event-driven systems.
Soft Skills & Competencies:
+ Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking for debugging complex infrastructure and application issues.
+ Excellent customer-facing communication and presentation skills.
+ Ability to train customers on technical topics.
+ Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, Sales, and Support).
+ Proactive mindset with a focus on automation, standardization, and operational efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience in large-scale system deployments within retail, payments, or hospitality industries.
+ Certifications in AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, or DevOps-related technologies.
+ Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies in software development and deployment.
