    The Adjunct Clinical Chaplain will assist the Manager of Spiritual Care Services by serving Randolph Health as an on-call Chaplain Pro Re Nata (PRN), or as needed basis. This position will serve in rotation with three other Adjunct Clinical Chaplains, with each being assigned one week per month. THIS POSITION IS FOR ONE WEEK PER MONTH, Monday 8 a.m.-Monday 8 a.m. The assigned week will afford five (5) hours ON-SITE, each weekday, Monday through Friday, and then on-call FROM HOME, 5 p.m.—8 a.m., returning to the hospital if called. Saturdays and Sundays, the on-call period is for the full 24 hours each day, FROM HOME, returning to the hospital if called. The Adjunct Clinical Chaplain will also serve on an as needed basis (PRN) when the Manager is off campus. The response time for call backs is 45 minutes from home to the hospital. The Adjunct Clinical Chaplain is available to patients, families, and staff for crisis intervention, end of life care, and/or emotional and spiritual distress.

     

    Seminary Master’s Degree (MDiv, ThM, or MRE) required. Focus in Theology or Counseling preferred. At least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) required. Ordination preferred. Bilingual preferred. If currently serving in a local congregation, the congregation will need to support candidate to function in this capacity.

     

    Ability to function as a professional on the Spiritual Care team to include performing spiritual assessments of patients, documentation in patients’ electronic medical records (EMR), and collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals. Knowledgeable in end-of-life issues, crisis intervention, and emotional/spiritual distress issues. A warm and friendly person who can connect easily with persons in critical situations. Minimum of 1 year experience in the health care setting preferred.
