Overview
The Senior Manager, Internal Communication and Community Engagement, is an individual contributor role that will lead the development and execution of internal communications strategies, ensuring clear, consistent, and impactful messaging that aligns with company goals and fosters employee engagement and a strong culture. This role will also develop and implement strategies to connect the organization with its community, building relationships, understanding needs, and fostering partnerships to achieve shared goals.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
The Role’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
+ **Internal Communication Strategy:** Develop and implement comprehensive internal communication plans that focus on both desk free and office populations and align with the company's goals and values.
+ **Content Creation:** Oversee the creation of engaging content for various internal channels, including newsletters, intranet, emails, social media, digital signage, video messaging, town halls, and other in-person events.
+ **Community Engagement:** Lead initiatives that strengthen the company's presence and involvement in the local community, including partnerships with local organizations and participation in community events.
+ **Leadership Communication:** Support senior leadership in crafting and delivering key messages to target audiences, ensuring transparency and consistency.
+ **Feedback Mechanisms:** Establish and manage feedback channels to gauge employee sentiment and identify areas for improvement.
+ **Crisis Communication:** Develop and implement crisis communication plans with relevant internal stakeholders to effectively manage internal communication during emergencies or significant organizational changes.
+ **Metrics and Reporting:** Monitor and report on the effectiveness of internal communication and community engagement initiatives, using data to drive continuous improvement.
+ **Project Management** : Act as an extended member of several cross functional teams to drive communication outcomes for different projects, strategic and operational initiatives.
+ **Lead Cares Committee** : Lead the internal employee cares committee the plans and executes employee engagement activities across multiple locations.
+ **Culture Communication & Strategy** : Partner with HR and the business to design and execute programs and events that promote employee engagement, recognition, and a positive workplace culture.
Required Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or community relations, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Strong project management and organizational abilities.
+ Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
+ Proficiency in using Microsoft Offices, communication tools and platforms with particularity in PowerPoint, e-Forms, and Excel.
+ Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
+ Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills and presentation skills.
+ Ability to influence and inspire at all levels of the organization
+ Ability to thrive under pressure and manage multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously.
+ Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
+ Demonstrated competence in the use of computers and software applications.
+ Willingness and ability to travel with occasional overnight stays.
+ Valid Driver’s license with the ability to meet the MRC Global vehicle policy.
Working Conditions
+ Most work is performed at a desk or in front of a computer.
+ Able to sit/stand for long periods of time.
