Ultium Cells Overview:

Ultium Cells is a joint venture lithium-Ion automotive battery cell manufacturing plant between LG Energy Solutions and General Motors. This new construction high-technology plant will have the latest battery cell manufacturing technology. The investment in this new business venture represents a commitment of more than $2.3 Billion. It will be among the largest battery cell manufacturing plants in the world. Ultium Cells will produce battery cells for General Motors North American electric vehicle applications.

Job Description:

Ultium Cells seeks a Financial Specialist who is responsible for collecting and studying the financial and operational data to analyze profitability of the business, extracting and defining relevant information. The candidate will dig into complex datasets to analyze trends and translate them into actionable insights for continuous process/profitability improvements. This role also will be able to communicate with cross-functional teams and individuals within the company.

Job Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To:

+ Assist with the budget preparation, financial planning and forecasting update

+ Develop the yearly budget, pro forma financial statements and communicate action plan with the cross functional teams

+ Manage the Monthly Rolling Forecast; communicate with each function and develop tactics to attain the budget

+ Perform cost variance analyses in key indicators (forecast vs. actual)

+ Capital expenditure (Capex) / Operating expense management

+ Target battery cell price development; establish target cell price and facilitate the concurrence discussion among the stakeholders

+ Assist functional teams with budget questions and provide guideline on PR/PO process (GL, cost center, approval line)

+ Perform ad hoc analyses to provide financial recommendations to the leadership

+ Handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner

Qualifications and Competencies:

Required:

+ Minimum 2 years of Financial Planning & Analysis or relevant experience

+ Strong analytical, financial modeling, and reporting skills

+ Break-work-in-silo mentality

+ Time, Quantity, Quality trade-off management

+ Communication and presentation skills

+ Bilingual in English and Korean preferred

Preferred:

+ Knowledge in the automotive or/and battery industry and manufacturing

+ SAP experience

+ Corporate finance
