Generac Clean Energy is looking for a motivated **Senior Staff Software Engineer (Level V)** with insatiable curiosity. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team and build a highly scalable and intuitive SIL (Software in Loop) infrastructure, which can be used by embedded software developers to develop tests. This infrastructure is a cornerstone for building an agile embedded development environment. As a SIL Infrastructure Developer, you should have excellent coding and communication skills. You should be highly proficient in C++ and have a working knowledge of Python coding.

This position is located onsite in our North Billerica office

Responsibilities:

+ Build a SIL infrastructure from scratch

+ Develop Python-based tools to auto-generate code to build scalable simulation systems

+ Create Python bindings for C++ code

+ Design intuitive API for Simulations to be used by developers to effectively write SIL tests

+ Work with build systems like Meson

Minimum Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, master’s degree preferred

+ Minimum 8 years of experience

+ Excellent C, C++ coding skills and code organization skills

+ A solid understanding of software design principles and architectures is necessary

+ Experience with object files, shared libraries, and linking object files under Linux

+ Experience with communication technologies – SPI, i2C, UART CAN and Ethernet

+ Experience with real-time operating systems

+ Working knowledge of Python coding

+ Knowledge of version control (Git) and continuous integration

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience with modeling using MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape/PLECS

+ Embedded systems experience.

+ Knowledge and experience with automation and build tools, ex. Jenkins, Docker
