Description

+ Lead the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.

+ Lead and manage the accounting department, including accounting staff, financial reporting, tax, and internal controls.

+ Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and best practices to support retail operations.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights into financial performance and budgeting.

+ Monitor and manage the company’s cash flow, working capital, and liquidity.

+ Assess and manage risks related to the company’s accounting and financial operations.

+ Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations, particularly in a retail environment.

+ Support the development of budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with retail goals.

+ Provide strategic financial advice to executive leadership to support business objectives and decisions.

Requirements

+ 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the retail or consumer goods industry.

+ Proven track record of building and leading high-performing accounting teams.

+ Strong understanding of retail accounting principles, including inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and cost of goods sold (COGS).

+ Extensive knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting regulations.

+ Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA is must).

+ Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
