    Position Description

    The Ingram School of Engineering (https://www.engineering.txst.edu/) at Texas State University is inviting applications for a tenure-track position in Electrical Engineering at the Assistant Professor level. Texas State University is looking for an individual to enhance its faculty expertise, reinforcing and complementing the core curriculum. Specifically, we are seeking candidates with expertise in electrical engineering, focusing on IoT, 5/6G wireless communications, networking, and sensing. Additional proficiency in heterogeneous computer and communication systems, autonomous vehicle systems, network security, secure hardware, and secure data storage, with potential intersections in AI and ML design, is preferred.

     

    The successful candidate will be expected to establish a program of externally funded collaborative research, demonstrate a strong commitment to student-centered teaching and mentoring, teach general electrical and computer engineering courses, and engage in university and professional service.

     

    This position is subject to the availability of funds.

    Required Qualifications

    + An earned doctorate in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline.

    + Potential to establish an externally funded, nationally recognized research program.

    + A research agenda in one or more of the following areas: IoT, 5/6G wireless communications, networking, and sensing.

    + Evidence of strong teaching abilities and the potential for success in graduate and undergraduate settings encompassing classroom instruction and teaching laboratories.

    + Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + An ability to work collaboratively with faculty across multiple departments and programs.

    + Industrial, or post-doctoral experience (in an area of expertise that complements those of the department faculty).

    + Knowledge about ABET accreditation procedures and deliverables.

    + Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: heterogeneous computer and communication systems, autonomous vehicle systems, network security, secure hardware, and secure data storage, with possible intersections with emerging areas in AI and ML.

    + An ability to effectively mentor EE students at all levels.
