Job Description

Hennepin Technical College seeks a Temporary Part Time Mathematics instructor dedicated to excellence in career and technical education who desires to become part of an environment that values trust, integrity, pride, passion, respect, collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and diversity. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to embracing quality and innovation in career and technical education, workforce development, and lifelong learning.

Examples of Duties:

+ Teach lecture and lab courses in Mathematics

+ Continuous curriculum development, including the design, revisions, and implementation of instructional materials and assessment of learner outcomes

+ Integration of assessment activities into teaching practices and participation in department and college-wide assessment of student learning

+ Support of the success and development of students through the use of a variety of instructional methods, available office hours, and by providing additional resources

+ Development and implementation of on-campus, online and hybrid courses

+ Contribution into department decisions on budget, scheduling, textbook selection etc.

+ Participation in discipline, team, campus, and college matters through service on committees; attendance at regular meetings; and continued professional development

+ Support and advance the department and college mission through ideas and projects

Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirement

+ Master's degree with a major in mathematics or a Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in mathematics.

Classes are scheduled from 6:00am – 9:00pm Monday through Friday and may include weekends. Additional hours will be required for office hours and the completion of administrative duties.
