We are looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer who is preoccupied with big questions: Where do we go from here? What are the limits of innovation and exploration? How do we continue to evolve as a species?

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

+ This position will play a key role in the development of embedded software for development of commercial EVA Spacesuit Graphical Display.

+ Responsibilities will include the development, testing and deployment of embedded software to support UI/UX solutions.

+ Create, test, and integrate embedded software in prototype and flight environments.

+ Communicate with subject matter experts across disciplines, users, and management through the software test and development.

+ Maintain the integrityof our disciplined software configuration and management processes.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

+ Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, software engineering, computer engineering or related field

+ 5+ years of experience developing software for microcontrollers and embedded systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

+ Experience delivering graphics APIs, graphics drivers or Game Engine subsystems for graphics

+ Experience with either DirectX/Vulkan/OpenGL

+ Experience working with Embedded Linux

+ Experience using operating systems (e.g., Linux, VxWorks, RTEMS) and communications protocols (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C) to interface with spaceflight hardware

+ Proficient with code in C/C++ Experience with development of NASA safety critical software

+ Familiar with NASA core Flight System software (cFS)

+ Knowledge of QT Software Ecosystem preferred

+ Experience implementing 3D graphics features such as lighting, effects, shaders, and other low-level systems preferred

Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

+ Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

+ Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.

Physical Requirements

+ Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
