    PRE-WEIGH TECHNICIAN

    MAKING DEPARTMENT – HUNT VALLEY, MD

    The Hunt Valley Making Department is responsible for pre-weighing and making all bulk that goes into brands such as Covergirl, Rimmel, Max Factor, Sally Hansen and Philosophy. We seek a Pre-Weigh Technician to be responsible for the weighing of materials needed for the batches to produce our coveted brands.

     

    The Pre-Weigh Technician will report primarily to the Making area manager along with several other pre-weigh technicians ensuring materials are pre-weighed safely and with good quality. Key stakeholders include the Making Technicians producing the batches and the Production technicians filling and packaging the product.

    THE ROLE

    In this role you will be responsible for:

    + _Maintaining adherence to Safety and Quality processes and procedures_

    + _Operating designated scales (Grams-Kg’s-Liquids)_

    + _Pre-weighing raw materials to stage them for Making vessels to complete batches_

    + _Read, understand and follow all Standard Operating Procedures_

    + _Perform daily tasks efficiently using appropriate computer tools and software_

    + _Identify opportunities for improvements and makes improvements when appropriate_

    + _Ensure operational activities and making performance are aligned with plant and business goals_

    QUALIFICATIONS

    We’d love to see candidates who have:

    _Essential:_

    + _HS diploma required_

    + _Be able to demonstrate basic computer and math skills_

    + _Be able to lift 25 kilograms / 55 pounds, lift hoses, bolt flanges and operate valves and similar equipment routinely without assistance_

    + _Be able to operate Power Jack and Power drum lift safely_

    + _Ability to communicate effectively with others_

    + _Ability to work well in teams; good interpersonal skills_

    + _Have great attention to detail – be able to calculate grams and kgs_

    + _We are a 3-shift operation, must have ability to support shift as assigned including weekends and holidays and work overtime when needed_

    _Desirable:_

    + _Previous Weighing and Making / Blending experience preferred_

    + _Demonstrated ability to trouble-shoot issues in weighing materials_

    + _Previous experience with SAP, Excel, Word & Outlook_
