About this Role

Position: Coax SplicerLocation: Conyers, GA

Overview: The Aspen Utility Company- a Quanta Services company- is seeking a skilled Coax Splicer to join our team. The Coax Splicer will be responsible for splicing and maintaining coaxial cables in both aerial and underground settings. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability and performance of our telecommunications infrastructure

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities:

+ Splicing Coaxial Cables: Efficiently splice coax cables of various sizes (.875, .715, .700, .625, .540, .500, .750, .650, and .500mcsq).

+ Installation and Maintenance: Perform span replacements, SDU new builds, riser transfers, and forced relocates both aerially and underground.

+ Fault Repair: Dig and repair faults as needed, ensuring minimal disruption to service.

+ Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety standards and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

+ Documentation: Accurately document end-of-line (EOL) readings and other relevant data.

+ Equipment Handling: Comfortably use ladders in rear easements and handle active devices efficiently.

+ Node Optimization: Balance and optimize nodes, with training available if not familiar.

+ Communication: Collaborate with HFC to close flashes/smops when complete.

What You'll Bring

Qualifications:

+ Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

+ Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in coax splicing.

+ Skills: Proficiency in splicing coax cables, balancing nodes, and using relevant tools and equipment.

+ Availability: Willingness to work long hours, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
