    Walden Security is currently recruiting **as-needed** Texas Licensed Armed Detention Officers for Walden’s State, Local and Federal Contracts throughout Texas. Our Detention Officers (DO’S) work at various State, Local and Federal facilities throughout Texas. Walden’s Detention Officers transport inmates from various facilities protecting and securing both the public and the Detainee and preventing escape. Walden also protects the public and the inmate from harm, by providing constant visual observation.

     

    **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** Includes the following and other duties may be assigned:

    + Clean Background / Clear Credit / DMV (No Convictions at all or pattern of arrests)

    + Pass a Pre-employment Physical

    + **Texas Level 3 or 4 Guard Card**

    + Familiarity with Glock Firearms, (40 Caliber or 9mm primary service weapon)

    + Previous Government Service a plus

    + Willing to work as needed, weekends, holidays and graveyard.

    + Minimum 3 years handling Prisoners / Detainees

    + Military / Special Operations a plus (verified by DD214)

    + All Starside employees must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Clearance

     

    Compensation is **$ 30.00 to** **$35.00** per hour; Detention Officers must be approved by State, Local and Federal Agency and pass their background.

    Requirements

    Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). At least three (3) calendar years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or its military equivalency (Master-at-Arms, CGPD, Security Forces Specialist, etc.); all three (3) years must have occurred within the last seven (7) years. The experience must have included general arrest authority.

     

    Language Skills: Must have the ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must possess the ability to understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures.

     

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must have a valid driver's license from state of residency and a safe driving record for the past five years; Must receive clearance from the Department of Justice. Must have completed or graduated from certified Federal, state, county, local or military law enforcement training academy and able to provide certification as proof.

     

    Other Qualifications: Must be at least 21 years of age; Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

     

    Physical Demands: Must meet medical standards as specified by the United States Marshal Service (USMS); The physical demands are based on the contract and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
