Business Analyst

FUNCTION & SCOPE:
Reporting to the Manager of the Business Applications Pre-Award and Grants Business Services, the Business Analyst will interface and function as the liaison to the Information Technology Services Department on associated ERP functional requirements. The individual in this position will be responsible for business alignment as it relates to various financial modules within Oracle E-business Suite and other duties as it relates to third party business applications supported by RF Central office.
DUTIES:
Business alignment and relationship building:
+ Foster a solid working relationship with ITS, other RF Central Office departments and Campuses.
+ Organize and facilitate meetings with appropriate staff to gain an understanding of their business processes and technological needs.
+ Focus on the delivery of reliable systems, business process improvements, and innovation.
+ Participate as the Research Foundation ITS representative on focus groups or committees of practice.
+ Anticipate customer expectations and produce products that demonstrate desired results.
Solution Design and Delivery:
+ Collaborate closely with various stakeholder groups to document emerging business requirements, process changes, new data elements, and business rules pertinent to newly requested enhancements or changes related to projects.
+ Provide strong representation of business needs in the design/development of technology solutions.
+ Provide thorough written documentation with the technical development team to ensure the design and development of effective technology solutions.
+ Work with Oracle, and other technology vendors as needed to articulate RF business needs and identify solutions.
+ Actively participate in IT projects, and as needed maintain applicable project assets such as requirement traceability matrix, function traceability matrix, business rules, testing scripts, decision-making documents, process flows etc.
+ Assist in coordinating testing and implementation of solutions to ensure final delivery to the business.
+ Provide knowledge transfer and assist with documentation and training needs as needed.
Work Management:
+ Own portfolio of work activities within assigned operational unit
+ Clearly communicate status of work being performed to supervisor
+ Seek mentorship of existing business analysts on all aspects of the business applications in the design/development of technology solutions
+ Assist with coordinating and communicating with various user groups regarding significant events.
+ Conduct other duties as assigned.
Production Support:
+ Assess production issues criticality and restore application and/or functions in a timely manner.
+ Document functional aspects of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for preventative measures.
+ Available for on-call or after-hours support, as needed.
Vendor Management:
+ Evaluate third-party software and technology vendors and provide recommendations to leadership.
+ Monitor that vendors are meeting contracted service level agreements and raise suspected issues with supervisors.
Continuous Improvement:
+ Look for areas of process optimization and automation using technology.
+ Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
User Support:
+ Provide support for end-users on business applications.
+ Manage campus user accounts for third-party software
+ Establish and maintain support processes documentation for helpdesk services.

Job Requirements:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
+ Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field is highly desirable.
+ 2-3 years of experience supporting financials ERP or similar systems
+ Proven critical thinking skills with problem solving aptitude and ability to take initiative.
+ Ability to independently lead or facilitate meetings.
+ Work independently and collaboratively as an active team member.
+ Commitment to a team-based approach, quality assurance and project management principles and methodologies
+ Knowledge of the Oracle E Business Suite Financials - Grants/AR/Cash preferred.
+ Knowledge of the software development lifecycle
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Compensation for this position: The compensation for this role is between $75,115 to $81,799. The pay will depend on a variety of factors that may include but are not limited to experience, education, training, and certifications.
