Position:  Educational Assistant, full time

What you will do…

The Educational Assistant (EA) is a critical partner to the lead teacher, assisting in the implementation of Milwaukee College Prep’s curriculum and managing classroom culture. The Educational Assistant will receive daily instructions from the lead teacher; generally an EA will:

+ Provide daily instruction with scholars one-on-one or in small groups

+ Support whole group instruction by maintaining on-task behavior and monitoring understanding

+ Build strong relationships with parents

+ Check Life’s Work (homework) daily and communicate with teacher regarding any missing or incomplete work.

+ Monitor scholars during lunch and recess

+ Accompany scholars to Art, PE, Music and IT and assist lead teacher as necessary

+ Substitute teach when lead teacher is absent

+ Model the excellence we expect from our scholars

What you should have…

+ 60 college credits

+ Prior experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.

+ A passion for making a difference in the lives of children.

+ Absolute belief in every child’s ability to succeed and tenacity to ensure that success.
