Interventional Radiologic Technologist - YH Special Procedures - Days

Schedule: Part Time

Full Time (80 hours/pay period)

Days

On-call rotation coverage during off hours, weekends and holidays

General Summary

Performs invasive radiographic procedures at an intermediate skills level.

Duties and Responsibilities

+ Performs interventional and endovascular procedures.

+ Under the direct supervision of the physician, administers intravenous contrast media. Recognizes complications (e.g., contrast reaction) and treats appropriately.

+ Scrubs with physician as required.

+ Schedules cases to coordinate with other patient examinations.

+ Positions and transfers patients comfortably.

+ Immobilizes patients as necessary and practices radiation safety procedures.

+ Selects and operates equipment as needed to perform required exams.

+ Performs duties as on call technologist. Trains new staff as needed.

+ Prepares and maintains written documentation as required by the profession and the department.

+ Performs the duties of Radiographer as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

+ High School Diploma or GED Required

Work Experience:

+ 1-year Relevant experience. Required

Licenses:

+ Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and

+ Registered Technologist-Cardiac Interventional Radiology - ARRT Upon Hire Required or

+ Registered Technologist-Radiation Therapy - ARRT Upon Hire Required or

+ Registered Technologist-Radiography - ARRT Upon Hire Required or

+ Registered Technologist-Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology - ARRT Upon Hire Required or

+ Registered Technologist-Vascular Interventional Radiology - ARRT Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training:

+ Accredited program in radiologic technology and training in special procedures. Upon Hire Required
