    This position is ECB status – requires a minimum number of worked hours per month as needed by the department; limited benefit offerings.

    Job Summary: Operates diagnostic radiologic equipment, Computerized Tomography or Magnetic Resonance Imaging equipment for diagnostic purposes.

     

    Minimum Education: Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.

     

    Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT). Current CPR Certification.

     

    Work Experience: 6 months to 1 year of related experience.

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques and protocols, DR exposure techniques and protocols, Computerized Tomography, and/or Magnetic Resonance Imaging technical principles and procedures. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Ability to properly administer pharmaceuticals intravenously for imaging procedures. Knowledge of sharps usage practices and techniques. Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to integrate the analysis of data to discover facts or develop knowledge, concepts or interpretations. Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner. Ability to be detailed oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data.

     

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Position patient and adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by provider. Explain procedures to allow for understanding, cooperation and to reduce anxiety of patient. Administer appropriate pharmaceuticals pursuant to procedure, place IV's and administer enemas as required. Practice radiation protection techniques by using beam restrictive devices and applicable exposure factors to minimize radiation to the patient, staff and others as necessary. Obtain acceptable images using appropriate techniques and protocols. Acquire and disseminate patient information data for exam order using Hospital EMR System. Appropriately document information in patient charts as required or necessary. Perform quality control checks to ensure proper operating status. Maintains examination rooms and stock necessary supplies pursuant to established protocols.

     

    Decision Making: Independent judgment in planning sequence of operations and making minor decisions in a complex technical or professional field.

     

    Working Relationships: Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
