Job Summary and Qualifications
Job Summary:
The Manager of Education, Training and Exercises is responsible for working with internal and external partners to create, curate, design, develop and deliver learning solutions, training, and exercises for the Enterprise Emergency Operations Group (Emergency Management Division, Security Services Division and Business Continuity Division).
Responsibilities:
Growth:
+ Participate in strategic planning and business development within area(s) of responsibility to support new service offerings, technology advances, and emerging Enterprise challenges through the development of educational programs, just-in-time training, and exercises at the facility, Division, and Enterprise levels.
+ Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop timely and accurate training and education content, using varied didactic modalities to support adult learners; develop leadership and tactical level exercises—including facilitated discussions, tabletop exercises, PodCast / VodCasts, and functional exercises—for all levels of the companies.
+ Learn and stay abreast with progressive knowledge and awareness of healthcare security, emergency management and business continuity subject matter and content, including emerging threats and trends, external factors and opportunities. This includes political, legislative and regulatory changes, emerging technologies, and advancements.
+ Participate in the development and facilitation of annual training conferences for Enterprise Response Teams.
+ Continued learning and application of modern and novel learnings tools and applications, such as AI tool sets.
+ Participate in strategic planning and business development within area(s) of responsibility to support new service offerings, technology advances, and emerging Enterprise challenges through the development of educational programs, just-in-time training, and exercises at the facility, Division, and Enterprise levels.
Finance:
+ Optimize Department performance in accordance with established budget, including the utilization of staffing, supplies, equipment.
Professional Practice:
+ Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to assess learning needs, objectives and outcomes to produce quality digital, virtual, and in-person learning content
+ Develop assessments to support and analyze learning needs and effectiveness
+ Publish new learning content/courses to an LMS or other identified platforms.
+ Manage master training, education, and exercise calendar.
+ Develop curriculum and material suitable for synchronous and asynchronous learning for internal and external partners.
+ Develop training assets such as handbooks, student guides, scenario event lists, exercise plans, manuals, slide presentations, videos, and related materials.
+ Maintain a library of up-to-date, relevant, product-specific course materials.
+ Maintain HCA brand standards in content.
+ Conduct live training and education sessions virtually and in person.
+ Present comfortably to a wide range of partners, including executives, emergency managers, business leaders, security personnel, and clinical leaders.
+ Write, edit, record, and produce training material for asynchronous learning.
+ Develop collaborative exercises according to HSEEP principles.
+ Demonstrate an understanding and ability to apply evaluation methodologies into courses and curriculum to enable refinement of content and programs.
+ Develop learning objective to include audience, behavior, conditions, and standards for learning deliverables
+ Develop and implement multiple learning solutions in virtual and in-person formats, with operational activities, scenarios, learning assets and assessments to reinforce intended on-the-job application.
+ Assess audiences to determine publishing of bi-lingual learning content (digital or print)
+ Evaluate and improves learning content pathways to ensure employee ease of access, knowledge transfer, and performance improvement.
+ Ability to travel 25% of the time.
Education & Experience:
Required:
+ Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Education professional with a proven track record of successfully developing course content, providing course delivery, and conducting learner evaluation based on adult learning principles
+ 3+ years experience using Instructional Design software such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Audacity, Prezi and Learning Management Systems (i.e. HealthStream)
+ 3+ year experience in communication, leadership, and technical writing
+ 5+ years experience with Microsoft Office
Preferred:
+ Master’s degree in education or related subject matter
+ Certification in Homeland Security Exercises and Evaluation Program (HSEEP)
+ Certification in Training and/or Education
+ De-escalation certification or training (e.g. CPI, MOAB, etc.)
+ Certification in Business Continuity (e.g.CBRM, CBCI,etc.)
